Laboratory of elemental and speciation analysis

Laboratory of elemental and speciation analysis is focused on analyses of trace elements as well as micro and macro elements (Cd, Pb, Hg, Ni, Cr, Pt, Zn, Fe, Cu, Mn, Co, Ca, Mg, Te, Au, Ag, Se), both in environmental and biological samples, and in food of plant and animal origin. For determination of these elements we use the AAS method and we analyze individual species of mercury (Hg2+, MeHg+, EtHg+, PhHg+) by HPLC-CV-AFS method.

One of our main research directions is the study of diffusion and kinetic processes taking place in the environment using DGT (diffusion gradient technique in thin film) to analyze bioavailable forms of especially heavy metals.
