A multidisciplinary research group is focused on a wide range of scientific topics covering plant biology, elemental analysis and bioanalysis. Newly developed or optimized methods are relevant not only to the field of conventional applications (environmental analysis, food analysis, medical diagnostics, etc.), but are capable to assess important biological context or to monitor external factors for key biological processes.
The use of sophisticated analytical instruments (spectrometric or separation techniques) as well as cutting-edge approaches of modern molecular biology (genome editing) creates a complex research strategy.
One of the possible advantages of multidisciplinarity and multi-instrumentality is the ability to obtain information not only about metal content (AAS, (LA)-ICP-MS), but also about key biomolecules (DART / DESI-MS, GC-MS) including their spatial distribution.
The research group has a very good network for collaboration with international co-workers, but also for commercial activities and especially in the field of metals and their speciation.
